Number Line Activity Pack

Explore counting and number order across tabletop, floor and wall activities with the Number Line Activity Pack. The set combines two illustrated jigsaws, desktop number lines, transparent markers and card wall friezes, giving practitioners several ways to present the same number ideas. Teaching notes, photocopyable worksheets and a lidded storage box are included.

A varied number-line set

The pack contains one tabletop worm number-line jigsaw and one snake number-line floor jigsaw. There are six desktop lines covering 1–10 and six covering 1–20, plus coloured see-through plastic markers and three card wall friezes. Choose the resources that suit the current activity rather than putting every component out at once.

Connect a puzzle with counting

The worm number-line puzzle measures 950 x 240mm. On a suitable table, children can look at the printed sequence, find a neighbouring piece and test how the sections fit. A practitioner can ask which number comes before or after another, then invite the child to point to its position. Handling pieces gives a physical action to accompany the number conversation.

Use desktop lines for individual turns

Desktop number lines provide a smaller reference beside an activity. Invite a child to locate a named number and use a transparent marker to indicate it. They can move the marker along the line while counting forwards, or compare two positions with an adult. Keep the task within the number range and pace that are appropriate to the child.

Offer a shared visual reference

The three card wall friezes can provide a visible number reference elsewhere in the room. Connect a number on a desktop line with its position on a frieze, and invite children to explain what they notice. Use the snake floor jigsaw for a separately planned activity on a clear surface, following the supplied guidance and the needs of the group.

Organisation and materials

The supplier states that the puzzles and number lines are printed on 100% polyester with an anti-slip backing; the wall friezes are card. Teaching notes and photocopyable worksheets help practitioners plan further use. The supplied Gratnell box with lid keeps the varied resources together between sessions. The supplier requests approximately four weeks for delivery.
