Low Level 4 Compartment Kinderbox

The Low Level 4 Compartment Kinderbox is a mobile classroom book-storage unit with four deep upper compartments and a full-width open shelf below. The divided top lets children browse organised groups of books, while the lower shelf provides additional space for titles, baskets or related reading resources. Castors allow an adult to reposition the unit as classroom layouts change.

Made from 15mm covered MDF, the Kinderbox is available in Beech, Maple, Multi and Red/Map variants. Its surface is specified to ISO 22196, and the unit is supplied flat-packed for adult assembly.

Four Deep Compartments for Easy Browsing

The top is divided into four clear book bays. Instead of forming one large stack, books can be separated into useful categories such as stories, information books, phonics readers and current-topic titles. Children can look through each group, choose a book and return it to an obvious section.

This supports practical classification and classroom responsibility. Educators can add picture-and-word labels, colour codes or simple subject markers to help children understand the arrangement.

Extra Full-Width Storage Below

The open lower shelf adds capacity without reducing access to the top compartments. It can hold reserve books ready for rotation, suitably sized baskets, story props or other reading resources. Keeping related items together makes it easier to move from choosing a book to shared storytelling, discussion or imaginative follow-up activity.

Mobile, Low-Level Classroom Storage

Castors let staff move the unit between classroom zones or reposition it for room changes and cleaning. Its low format supports child access and helps preserve adult sightlines across the room. Use it beside a carpet or soft seating to define a reading corner, or position it near a teaching area for topic-book access.

Practical Organisation Ideas

  • Assign one upper compartment to each book category.
  • Keep frequently selected books in the top bays and reserve stock below.
  • Add clear visual labels to support independent returning and tidying.
  • Use a lower-shelf basket for puppets or lightweight story props.
  • Rotate one compartment at a time to maintain both novelty and familiarity.

Why Choose the Low Level 4 Compartment Kinderbox?

This Kinderbox provides both divided browsing storage and a separate lower shelf within one mobile unit. The four top compartments keep categories manageable, the open shelf adds flexible capacity, and the castors help the furniture adapt to changing learning spaces. Four finish variants provide options for coordinating with the room.
